About Shari Ransford

Shari has been with TID since 2009 as an associate in the workers’ compensation defense area of law.

She began her workers compensation experience 20 years ago as a receptionist at a major defense firm in Orange County. She then advanced to a legal secretarial position, where she worked with Partner Michael Nezin for many years. Motivated by her interest in the law, Mr. Nezin suggested she apply for law school. Shari attended law school at night, while continuing with her legal secretarial and paralegal duties at the defense workers compensation firm.

Ms. Ransford completed law school, and was admitted to the bar in 2005. She was hired by Grancell et al as a defense workers compensation attorney in their San Diego office. She then came to TID in 2009 as an experience associate in defending workers’ compensation claims.

On weekends and time off, Shari loads up her horses, and competes across the state. She rides in team pennings, sortings and cuttings; events where 2 or 3 partners work cattle on horseback. Many weekends are spent at horse shows hanging out with friends after a long day on horseback, having BBQs and beers around the campfire, complaining and gloating about the day’s wins and losses.

Shari and her husband, Bob, live in a remote North San Diego county house on 3 acres with their large family of horses, dogs, cats, chickens and geese, several of which are rescued. If you visit their “farm” you are guaranteed to be chased by a nasty red rooster or a guard dog goose. (These two animals may be up for adoption themselves.)

Shari still enjoys going to the beach in the summer and snow skiing in the winter when she can break away from the farm and all the critters. Shari became a 49ers fan while living and skiing in Lake Tahoe in the 80s and still cheers for them during the football season.
