Andris Inveiss attended Ohio State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Labor Relations in 1981, and a Masters Degree in Labor Relations in 1983. While attending Ohio State University, Andris played varsity volleyball earning a second, third and fourth place finish in the NCAA finals.
In 1983, Andris and his wife, Kellie, moved to San Diego to attend California Western School of Law. He graduated from California Western in June and was admitted to the California Bar in December of 1986.
During his early years, Andris practiced labor, family, criminal, workers’ compensation and personal injury law for Olins, Foerester & Siegal, and subsequently Prochazka, McGrath & Cortes. In 1989, Andris went to work for Heggeness & Sweet, representing insurance administrators, third-party carriers and self-insured employers. In 1991, Andris became an associate at Trovillion, Inveiss & Demakis and has been the managing partner since 1996. He represents clients in the defense of state workers’ compensation claims and wrongful terminations.
Since 1987, Andris has also represented over 500 professional volleyball athletes and coaches through his sports marketing company, SportsNet International. He has provided advice on career management and has negotiated playing and endorsement contracts throughout the world including the United States, Brazil, China, Japan, Italy, Turkey, Greece, France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, Finland and Azerbaijan. Endorsement agreements have been negotiated with various major companies including Mizuno, Nike, Ricoh, Champion and Tachikara.
Andris and his family are fluent in the Latvian language, which stems from his parents’ immigration to the United States in 1951 after the Soviet occupation of Latvia. He has been married to Kellie since 1983. They have raised two daughters. He enjoys traveling, fishing, golfing, working out, skiing, gardening and collecting wines. Andris enjoys spending time with his grandkids and at his cottage, located on Long Lake in southwestern Michigan.
